Any constitutional change proposals must be submitted in writing, prior to, or at the August meeting.
Ideally, 2 representatives from each pool will be in attendance with one of the two representatives being a board member and the other a staff member. Each pool has up to 2 votes.
Lastly, trophies must be returned at the August 24th meeting.
Our thanks to Westpark for being such gracious hosts through the weekend and putting on a great waterpolo final!
All the athletes are to be congratulated for putting on remarkable performances but there are particular congratulations to Glenmore who won 5 golds in the finals. The weekend was made all the sweeter for having the first ever 12 and Under Mixed Finals as an official NAA event. Once again, it was Glenmore who took home the trophy in a tight 3-2 game with Briarwood.
The NAA competitive season will wrap up this weekend with the Waterpolo Finals on Saturday and Sunday at Westpark Pool. The first warm up starts at 7:00am but check the 2015 Waterpolo page for schedule updates for your team.
We’re in the home stretch now. Senior Synchro Finals were completed at Thorndale tonight. There are some pictures to enjoy in the Photo Gallery and the results from all Synchro Events on the 2015 Synchro page.
Tomorrow is Diving Finals at Elm Park. Results of Sectional Finals have been posted on the Diving page.
Saturday and Sunday marks the end of NAA competitions with the Waterpolo Finals. Results from the two semi-finals and the schedule for the weekend can now be found on the Waterpolo page.
Just when you think the laws of physics make it impossible to go any faster, an athlete comes along to prove you wrong. Now that the Big Meet is in the books, we’ve updated our records.
Neal McComb’s 9-10 backstroke record of 38.40 had been with us for 31 years. (Yes, you read that right… 31 years!) It was the longest standing swimming record in the NAA (until Saturday). Neal set the record in 1984 while with Westminster and would go on to be involved with the NAA for years afterwards. Glen Omielan of Walters finally broke Neal’s record at the big meet with a blistering 37.72. Hopefully Glen’s record will stand for another 3 decades. Congratulations Glen!
Glen was also tearing up the pool in butterfly as he eclipsed Julien Alie of Elm Park’s 2000 record of 16.09 with a time of 15.82.
Also in butterfly, Elsa Yazedjian of TMR blew past Maggie Robertson of Glenmore’s 2012 8 and under record of 18.72 with a new record time of 18.47. Great work Elsa.
