Webmaster: Whew! Photos are back!

I know - I was jonesing without the regular lists of photos too! Not to worry, they hadn't gone far. The Photo Gallery is back up and running though it may take a couple of hours for all the indexes and thumbnail pictures to store properly. Now - it's time to bring on the photos for 2010!

Swimming: Swimming Dual Meet schedule now available

The dual meeting schedule for 2010 is now available online in the 2010 Swimming area.

NAA Notification: NAA Meeting this evening

Don't forget the 2nd NAA Meeting of the season is schedule for this evening, June 14th at the Dorval Community Centre. Each pool should have two representatives there. A number of Constitutional changes are on the agenda for this evening before we kick off the competitive schedule for the season.

Webmaster: Photogallery troubles

Don't despair. I know the photogallery isn't working properly but we'll be getting it back up and running in the next few days. This is due to an upgrade that happened recently that has derailed the location of our photographs.

Swimming: Swim Officials Timers Clinic June 25th

There will be a timers clinic open to all NAA members who wish to be officials during the summer. The clinic will be at the Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue pool (See the NAA Pool Map for directions) on June 25th at 7pm. Please contact Cory Kling for more information.

NAA Notification: Welcome our new president and NAA Exec

Our first meeting of the 2010 season is now behind us and we're delighted to welcome Brian Hillcoat as the new President of the NAA. Brian takes over from Chris Vandersluis who has served in the role for the past 4 years. We also have a new VP of Synchronized Swimming. Melanie Vandersluis will replace Aly Beccherini and Jen Robert will replace Julie Reichert as our Secretary of the NAA Executive. We thank our previous executive members for their service.

Over the next few days we'll be updating the site with new NAA Executive Contact information and other updates that are a result of our first meeting.

Swimming: The official NAA sponsors of the 2010 season

I'm delighted to introduce the Montreal Institute of Swimming as the offical sponsors of the NAA for the 2010 season. The MIS has a long standing connection with the NAA as it is a source of swimming instruction for many young people in the West Island during the winter months.

Aside from being the official NAA sponsors for the year, the MIS is also sponsoring the printing of our competition swim cards which are used Wednesday nights and during Time Trials. You'll see their name and website address at the bottom of the cards during the summer.

Those of you at tonight's NAA meeting will get a chance to meet the president of the MIS. If you'd like more information about their interesting instructional programs, we encourage you to look at the About our Sponsor page or to visit them on the web at swim-montreal.com.

NAA Notification: Constitutional Amendment

On May 17th, we will be introducing an amendment to the NAA Constitution to create the post of Past President. The text of the proposed amendment is in this message.

NAA Notification: Reminder: 1st NAA Meeting of the 2010 Season is on Monday, May 17th

Remember, our 1st NAA meeting of the 2010 season is now only one week away on Monday May 17th at 7:00pm at the Dorval Community Center. Please ensure that 2 representatives of your pool attend. Ideally this should include, a representative of your committee and a representative of your lifeguard/coach staff.

As is traditional during our first meeting of each season, we must elect new officers to posts which are vacant in the NAA Executive. The following positions must be filled on May 17th:

President
VP Synchronized Swimming
VP Marketing
Secretary

In particular I am requesting that the synchronized swimming community discuss amongst themselves who should represent their sport in the NAA as Vice-President.

I'm delighted to report that our VP of Swimming, VP of Waterpolo, VP of Diving and our Treasurer will all be returning. In addition, I will be continuing as the NAA Webmaster and Past President for the next year.

If that is the case, please forward the message to the new person responsible at your pool if you know them. We will be compiling a new 2010 NAA Contact list at our May 17th meeting so please be prepared with the contact names, phone numbers and emails of the key personnel at your pool for the upcoming season. Use of this list will be discontinued on June 14th.
