General: 2010 Wraps up with the 2011 calendar

With the last NAA meeting of the 2010 season complete, another great year is behind us but already plans are underway for the 2011 season.  Westminster pool will be hosting the 2011 NAA Championship Big Meet and all the other NAA Events are already in the 2011 PDF Calendar.  You can download yours now so you can start counting down to the 2011 season!

General: Only 3 weeks to go to our first meeting of the NAA for 2010

Hard to believe, but it's true. The first meeting of the NAA for the 2010 season is scheduled for May 17th. There will be several announcements and our usual agenda required to get the NAA season underway. One critical item will be the election of a new President of the NAA. To date no one has confirmed their intention to be nominated for this position. We encourage anyone who is interested in holding this post to make sure they attend the May17th meeting as an election on that night must be held. We will be sending out the official announcement for the May17 meeting by May 10th.

General: Have you seen our book recommendations?

As mentioned in the NAA meeting yesterday, we've created book recommendations we think will be of interest to NAA members.  This is one of many changes we'll have on the website over the year.  Go to the Bookstore link to see the recommendations.  You'll find books organized into several categories including one category for each aquatic discipline and one for Committees.  There are books on how to encourage parent participation, books on defensive waterpolo drills, books on how to fundraise, books on how to coach diving and more.

General: 2010 Events have been awarded

A long but productive last meeting of the 2009 season tonight has resulted in all of the 2010 NAA events being awarded.  Thanks to all the pools who bid for NAA events for next season and our congratulations to those who won the events they bid on.  Read this article to see where you'll be going for NAA events in 2010:

General: End of season 45

Well, that's the season.  We ended our 45th NAA season with Waterpolo as we do each year.  This year was a spectacular competition with the 16 and under boys from Westpark vs. Elm Park.  The meet was close and dramatic and ended with a single point separating the teams as Westpark took home the gold medals.

Our thanks to all the competitors and host pools from all four of our disciplines for yet another amazing season of competitions.

We've now posted the final results from Waterpolo and Synchronized Swimming.  Diving Finals will be posted shortly.

We've posted 3,327 pictures from this season alone and all the season's photos are now posted in the Photogallery.

The final NAA Meeting of the year is on Monday August 24th only a few days away.  We'll be sending an agenda in the next day or so but two items are of particular interest:

1. If you have won one of the NAA trophies, you *must* return the trophy to us at that meeting. 
2. We will be awarding all the Finals events for the 2010 season at our August 24th meeting.  This is the time to talk with your committee, staff and members about which events you'd like to host.

If you have been visiting this site over the summer, get ready for a range of new changes and excting new sections on the site over the winter season.  Aside from the historical results, we've got plans for some additions to the site that we think you'll very much like.

General: Big Meet Detailed Results, Swimming Records and New Weblinks

You'll find some new content on the site. We already told you about the updated Waterpolo Finals Schedule. You'll also find the Detailed Results from Saturday's Big Meet. If there are any errors in the detailed results, please be advised that we won't review them unless you believe the error changes the team scores sufficiently to alter which teams move between divisions.

With the Big Meet detailed results now in hand, we've been able to check the results against the NAA Swimming Records. You'll find a number of new NAA Record holders. Records as old as 1989 were broken this weekend! Congratulations to all our record-breaking athletes.

A new section is now available called WebLinks. This section will include online links of interest. We've left the section open to member additions so you're able to suggest sites to add. Please be aware though that if we find this being abused that we'll need to restrict the addition privilege in the future. In the meantime, if you've got a site that you think would be of interest to the rest of the NAA Community, feel free to add it there.

General: We can't resist

We can't resist sharing this with you. At the Summer Swimmer's meet the false start signal and the false start rope just weren't enough to slow down one of our young athletes. Elm Park's Manager Kelly didn't hesitate. Coat, clothes and all, she leapt in to get the young swimmer to start. Now the Elm Park staff have been asking why use a False Start rope at all? Surely Kelly can get the job done on her own!

Great work Kelly!

General: Swim and Synchro updates and upcoming events

We've got a lot of information for you to absorb in a short amount of time.

You'll find updates to some of the swimming results on the Swimming Schedule Results page. The results and draws are in from A and B Synchro Prelims. You can find the results from the Prelims and the current draws on the Synchro Schedule and Results page.

Time Trials are coming up on Saturday. "A" Division is at Valleycrest, "B" Division at Briarwood and "C" division at Ballantyne. This Monday (Aug 3rd) is Pre-Jr Synchro Finals at PPK followed by Diving Section finals on Tuesday for B and C Sections, Waterpolo Playoffs on Wednesday, Diving Sections for A Section on Thursday and Big Meet at Ecclestone on Saturday the 8th. Whew!

Starting times can be found on the Starting Times page and the PDF Calendar is still the most complete for dates and places.

General: More updates

You can now see week's one and two of waterpolo results on the WaterPolo Schedule and Results page.

We've also now got the historic area started with the NAA Trophy History page.

General: 5362 images in 151 albums

The new website has done wonders for getting our old photos into the new Photogallery. Over the last two days some 5362 images have been uploaded in over 150 albums.

There are more pictures to come from this year and a range of additional files to be added over the next few days.

General: Photos at last!

One of the first advantages of the new site is that we've finally got some 2009 pictures for you to enjoy. There are several thousand pictures to load to get all our previous years onto the site but we'll be working on that over the coming days.
