This message is being sent to numerous people who were on our 2009 NAA Mailing list and it is possible that you have received this even though you no longer hold a position on staff or on the committee of your pool. If that is the case, please forward the message to the new person responsible at your pool if you know them. We will be compiling a new 2010 NAA Contact list at our May 17th meeting so please be prepared with the contact names, phone numbers and emails of the key personnel at your pool for the upcoming season. NAA Notification: It's March and that means it's time to get our next President's meeting and organized!
It's hard to believe but 2010 has already arrived and now that it's March we have our first NAA President's Meeting on the schedule.
In this meeting we will be covering our usual topics for Committe Presidents such as marketing, staffing and funding but as promised, we will also be using the beginning of our meeting time to go over the role of the NAA President as that role is about to become vacant in May and must be filled.
Our meeting is scheduled for March 22 at 7pm at the Dorval Community Center. Each pool should be sending its committee president or a committee representative. The meeting will be of little interest to lifeguards.
In addition, if you are interested in being nominated as the President of the NAA in May, then you should attend this meeting at least for the first 30 minutes as we go over the role and responsibilities as well as answer any questions regarding taking on this responsibiltiy for the NAA. The President of the NAA is elected during the regular Annual General Meeting which is scheduled this year on May 17th. Any member in good standing can be elected to the position. They must be nominated during that meeting and then a vote is taken by the membership just as we do for all other NAA decisions.
If you know someone who is interested in considering this role, please have them be at the meeting on March 22nd to find out what is involved and/or contact Chris Vandersluis at president@naaswim.com.
